Ingredients
6 thick slices of baguette
A few tablespoons of butter
A pinch of good sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tin PYSCIS Sardines
1 orange
1 lemon
1 red onion or shallot
White wine or apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the onion/shallot, then pop into a bowl with vinegar (apple cider or white wine works) and a pinch of salt. Let sit for about 15 minutes to "quick pickle"
- Toast the baguette slices in a grill pan or toaster
- Spread with butter generously, then sprinkle with sea salt and pepper
- Place 2 PYSCIS sardines on each slice, followed by a few rings of the pickled red onions, and finally grate a light sprinkle of lemon and orange zest on each piece using a micrograter
